Description
Tulsi wood, belonging to the basil family, is considered the most sacred of all woods in Hindu tradition and is worshipped in Indian temples as a living goddess. According to Hindu legend, Lord Vishnu created Tulsi to help mankind, and wherever Tulsi is present, the place is sanctified, becoming like a pilgrimage site that negative forces cannot enter.
The Tulsi plant is a much-branched, bushy plant with aromatic leaves, purple flowers, and yellow-red seeds. Scientifically, it is believed that places with Tulsi plants have cleaner, purer air. Its leaves contain natural oils that can destroy bacteria and insects, and traces of mercury, making it valuable in Ayurvedic medicines.
